Let the book fall open to a random page.
Share two or three “teaser” sentences from that page, somewhere between lines 7 and 12.
Give the title of the book and the page you’re getting your “teaser” from... that way people can pick up some great book recommendations.

Here we go:
Alone together, I enjoy our companionable silence, but it creeps me out to sit in public, propped in our chairs like a pair of mummies. At a nearby table there's always a couple in their late seventies, holding their menus with trembling, spotted hands. When You Are Engulfed In Flames by David Sedaris p. 234

Certainly an interesting read! :) Thanks
Here's my Teaser!

I've heard a lot about David Sedaris, but I've never read anything by him. Your teaser is a good one and does make me want to pick this book up.

Sounds good -- I've never read Savid Sedaris either. Thanks for stopping by: Not so much a history "buff" but interested enough to join the U.S. Presidents reading challenge!
Wendi - thanks for stopping by.
PopinFresh - I've read just about every Sedaris book. I'd recommend starting with "Holidays on Ice." Great intro to his type of humor and style of writing...also a fun read this time of year.
Beth F. - we toured Mount Vernon a few years ago. George and Martha Washington are fascinating people. As time goes one, I become more interested in our former Presidents.
I've been there. I like Sedaris but haven't read this one. Here's mine: http://storytimewithtonya.blogspot.com/2008/11/teaser-bird-bones.html
I haven't read any of David Sedaris's books. Here is a link to my post: http://athomewithbooks.blogspot.com/2008/11/teaser-tuesdays-november-25.html.
Love the teaser, don't think I've read any Sedaris.

So funny -- I read your teaser the first time and had this sweet, lovely voice in my head -- then I saw it was Sedaris and re-read it; had a totally different tone! Love that book.
